Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Bound, a legal recruiting firm operating at boundtalent.com, collects, uses, and shares personal information. It applies to visitors to this website, contacts at law firms, and attorneys and legal professionals who get in touch about a role.
Information Bound collects
Bound collects what you choose to send, and a small amount of technical data.
- Contact details: your name, email address, and phone number.
- Professional details you provide: your firm name, your role, your practice area, and your experience.
- Your message and anything you include in it.
- Your resume and the details in it, if you email it to Bound.
- Technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, which the website host and security provider record automatically when you visit.
Bound does not ask for sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers or health information. Please leave it out of messages and resumes.
Bound does not currently run advertising or analytics cookies on this website. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.
This website is not directed at anyone under 18, and Bound does not knowingly collect information from them.
How Bound uses information
- To reply to your enquiry.
- To run searches and match candidates with roles.
- To keep records of conversations with law firms and candidates.
- To keep the website secure and working.
- To meet legal obligations.
Bound does not sell personal information. Bound does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
When information is shared
With law firms
A candidate’s information is shared with a law firm only after the candidate approves the introduction to that specific firm. Approval for one firm is not approval for another.
With service providers
Bound uses providers to run this website and handle messages: a website host, a content delivery and security provider, an email provider, and Formspree, which processes form submissions. They handle information on Bound’s behalf and only to provide their service.
When the law requires it
Bound may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect its rights or the safety of others.
Where information is processed
Bound and its providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.
How long Bound keeps information
Bound keeps enquiries and candidate records for as long as they are needed to reply and to run searches. Bound deletes them when you ask, unless the law requires Bound to keep them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask Bound to tell you what information it holds about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. You can also withdraw your approval for an introduction to a firm at any time before it is made. Email [email protected] to make a request.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information Bound collects and how it is used, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to be free from discrimination for using these rights. Bound does not sell or share personal information.
In the past 12 months Bound has collected identifiers (name, email address, phone number, IP address), professional information you provided, and the content of your messages. To make a request, email [email protected]. Bound will check your identity against the details it holds and respond within 45 days. An authorized agent can submit a request for you with your written permission.
Security
Bound uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so Bound cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
Bound will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
